AB InBev is a multinational drink and brewing holding company based in Belgium. It is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods companies in the world, and is responsible for more than 25% of global volume beer sales.Sept.2018 Net sales: Latin America: 39.7%; North America: 27.6%; Europe/Middle East/Africa: 18.3%; Asia/Pacific: 13.8%; and Other: 0.6%. The group's activity is organised around two sectors:

Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV
- 1366: Den Hoorn brewery was established in Leuven, Belgium.
- Oct.2016: Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV: the merger between Anheuser-Busch InBev and SABMiller closed. Interbrew became a division of Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV after the latter acquired SABMiller in Oct.2016.[12]
- Jan.2009: AB InBev announced that it had entered into an agreement with Asahi Breweries Ltd, whereby Asahi acquired 19.9% of Tsingtao Brewery Co. Ltd from AB InBev. The divestiture of this stake in Tsingtao was part of AB InBev’s ongoing deleveraging program, generating proceeds that will be used to repay debt.[6]
- Nov.2008: Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (AB InBev): orchestrated by 3G Capital Inc, InBev acquired American brewer § Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc (100%), and changed its name to reflect the heritage and traditions of Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc.[6]
- Jan.2008: Cintra brands were acquired. In May.2008, the Cintra brands were sold.[6]
- 2007: Immobrew was sold to Cofinimmo.
- 2007: acquisition of all of the outstanding units of ‘Lakeport’, and the acquisition of 100% of Goldensand Comercio e Serviços Lda, the controlling shareholder of ‘Cintra’.[6]
- 2004: InBev: § Interbrew International BV merged with Brazilian brewer § AmBev SA, becoming the largest brewer in the world by volume, with ~14% global market share.[6]
Interbrew SA
Prior to the merger with AmBev SA, Interbrew was the world's 3rd-largest brewing company by volume.[7]
- 2001: Beck's & Co was acquired.[11]
- 2001: Diebels in Germany was acquired.[10]
- Dec.2000: the company issued an IPO.[9]
- 2000: Bass Brewers and the Whitbread Beer Company in the UK were acquired.[8]
- 1995: § La Brasserie Labatt Limitée (Labatt Brewing Company Ltd), based in Toronto, Canada, was acquired. The transaction included the Toronto Blue Jays baseball club and the Toronto Argonauts football club. The Sports Network's holdco, Labatt Communications Inc (formed to hold Labatt's broadcasting assets), was sold to Bell Media Inc#NetStar Communications Inc, a consortium of 4 Canadian Investors, due to Canadian media ownership regulations.[8][6][7]
- 1987: Interbrew was formed by the merger of § Brouwerij Artois (Flemish brewers of Stella Artois, est.~1366) with § Piedboeuf Brewery, based in Walloon.[9]
Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc
Acquired by InBev. headquarters in St. Louis, MO. St. Louis also became the North American headquarters for the combined company.
- Nov.2008: Through the acquisition of Anheuser-Busch, AB InBev acquired a 35.12% direct interest in Grupo Modelo, Mexico’s largest brewer, and a 23.25% direct interest in Diblo SA de CV, Grupo Modelo’s operating subsidiary, providing AB InBev with a 50.2% interest in Modelo. AB InBev also acquired Tsingtao Brewery Company Limited, the 2nd-largest brewer in China, and producer of the Tsingtao brand. AB InBev has a 27% economic stake in Tsingtao. In Jan.2009, AB InBev announced the disposal of 19.9% of Tsingtao.[6]
- Equity investments included a 50% direct and indirect interest in Mexico’s Grupo Modelo, owner of the global Corona brand.
- 2008: Anheuser-Busch operated 12 breweries in the U.S., 15 in China, one in India and one in the U.K.
- 1993: China: Anheuser-Busch first invested in China. 1995 the company began brewing in the Budweiser Wuhan International Brewery; in 2004 it acquired Harbin Brewery Group Ltd, China’s oldest brewery, and the market share leader in the Northeast region of the country; in 2005 it increased its equity interest in Tsingtao Brewery Co. to 27% with the government retaining the majority share.
- 1896: Michelob, America’s first specialty beer, was introduced by Busch.
- 1876: Budweiser was the brewery’s first national beer brand.
- Through innovative marketing and new technologies - among them the introduction of pasteurization and artificial refrigeration - they transformed the local brewery into an industry leader.

- 1860: Anheuser & Company: the struggling Bavarian Brewery was acquired by Eberhard Anheuser, a successful soap manufacturer.

Was the world's 2nd-largest brewer measured by revenues, after Anheuser-Busch InBev; operated in 80 countries worldwide.
- Dec.2016: Eastern Europe operations were sold to Asahi Breweries Group Holdings Ltd.[10][11]
- Oct.2016: Grolsch Brewery, Peroni Brewery and Meantime Brewery were sold to Asahi Breweries Group Holdings Ltd.
- Oct.2016: Snow beer: SABMiller's 49% stake in the world's largest volume beer brand, was sold to China Resources Enterprise.[12][13]
- Oct.2016: MillerCoors beer company: SABMiller's interests were sold to Molson Coors.[7][8][9]
- Oct.2016: § Anheuser-Busch InBev acquired SABMiller, which became a business division of Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV.

- Nov.2014: Coca-Cola Beverages Africa: SABMiller (57%), the Coca-Cola Company (?%) and Gutsche Family Investments (?%) agreed to combine the bottling operations of their non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages businesses in southern and east Africa. The new bottler serves 12 high-growth countries, accounting for ~40% of all Coca-Cola beverage volumes in Africa.[24]
- Jul.2014: Tsogo Sun Holdings Ltd: divested its 39.6% holding in the casino and hotel group.[21]
- Nov.2011: Impala Cervejas, the first commercially produced cassava beer, was launched in Africa. The taste is described as "somewhat bitter, somewhat tangy, not sweet".[19]
- Sept.2011: Foster's Group Pty Ltd, an Australian beer group, was acquired by way of a hostile takeover.[16][17] The deal closed at end.2011, but excluded the Foster's lager brand in the UK and Europe, where it is owned by Heineken.[18]
- 2008: MillerCoors: SABMiller entered into a joint venture with Molson Coors to produce beverages in the USA.
- 2005: Bavaria SA, South America's 2nd-largest brewer and owner of the Aguila and Club Colombia brands, was acquired (majority interest).[15]

- May.2002: Miller Brewing Company in North America was acquired from Philip Morris Companies Inc, creating the world's 2nd-largest beer company. Philip Morris Companies Inc retained a continuing interest in the enlarged group.
- 1999: SAB plc, a new UK-based holding company, was formed. The company moved its primary listing to London to raise capital for acquisitions.[15]
- early.1990s: the company increasingly expanded internationally, making several acquisitions in both emerging and developed markets.
- 1897: Listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
South African Breweries plc
- Mar.1999: South African Breweries plc was incorporated in the UK and listed on the London Stock Exchange, becoming the successor parent company of the South African Breweries Ltd.ref
- 1895: South African Breweries Ltd was founded to serve a growing market of miners and prospectors in and around Johannesburg.
Ambev SA
Ambev operates across ~19 countries. It offers beers, primarily under the Skol, Brahma, Antarctica, Bohemia, Original, Budweiser, Stella Artois and Corona brands; it also provides 30 beverage brands, including Guaraná Antarctica, Guaraná Antarctica Black, Gatorade, H2OH!, Lipton Iced Tea, Fusion, Monster, Red Rock, Pepsi-Cola, and Seven Up brands.[7] ambev.com.br Prior to the merger with AmBev, AmBev was the world's 5th largest brewer. by volume.[12]
