Apollo Global Management is a publicly-traded American alternative investment firm, based in New York City. Sectors of interest include chemicals, commodities, consumer/retail, distribution, transportation, financial services, business services, manufacturing, industrial, media/cable/leisure, packaging, and satellite/wireless. Its activity segments are:

  • 55.2%: Private equity: targets traditional buyouts, distressed situations, as well as minority investments to help companies make acquisitions or fund other needs; invests in control equity and related debt instruments, convertible securities and distressed debt investments.
  • 36.9%: Credit: invests in non-control corporate and structured debt instruments, including performing, stressed and distressed investments across the capital structure.
  • 3.4%: Real estate: invests in real estate equity for the acquisition and recapitalization of real estate assets, portfolios, platforms and operating companies, and real estate debt, including first mortgage and mezzanine loans, preferred equity and commercial mortgage backed securities.

Apollo was built as part of a network of affiliated businesses focusing on private equity and a variety of distressed investment strategies. Lion Advisors, Ares Capital Corporation.
